Plastiques Novaprofil inc. wins a prize awarded by the CSST

Novatech Group Inc. is very proud to announce that on October 13, 2010, its Plastiques Novaprofil inc. division was the recipient of the Prix innovation en santé et sécurité du travail (award for innovation in health and safety in the workplace) for the Longueuil region - SME category.

The innovation that received the award was developed by a team working at the Novaprofil plant. It consists of wheeled carts that allow moving large-size PVC doors safely.

The Prix innovation en santé et sécurité du travail is a contest held in the different regions of Quebec. Its purpose is to acknowledge, disseminate and encourage initiatives taken by companies and their employees in regard to preventing accidents and illness in the workplace. There are 3 categories: SME, large companies and public organizations. Innovations are judged according to the following six criteria: Creativity, Participation, Reach, Complexity, Pro-activeness and Result.

As the winner for the Longueuil region, Plastiques Novaprofil inc. is now entered in the national finals that will take place in March 2011. The innovations produced by the national winners will be the subjects of television vignettes, which will be broadcast across the province.

This contest represents yet another opportunity for cooperation between employer and employees to find innovative solutions for heath and safety in the workplace. It joins the list of activities related to health and safety in the workplace already in place at Novatech Group Inc., such as training, the prevention program and WHS audits.
